Pre-Suasion by Robert Cialdini is a powerful book. It’s very likely that most people in the marketing industry have heard of his first book, Influence, but Pre-Suasion is arguably more potent and full of relevant information for the regular reader. It took Robert almost two decades to come back with a second book, and it’s hard to argue that it wasn’t worth the wait.
Though the book is filled with scientific fact and plenty of anecdotal stories, Robert never loses his focus on his key reader, the average person (not business man) who wants to make their life a little better by influencing those around them for the good of all. The book reads as a page turner, and the reader is left in suspense about many of the big revelations that are made—proving that Robert is a master of persuasive text as well as speech.
